The Fruit Shop



The Fruit Shop is the online store of ceramic artist Hsiang Jung Chen. Though it doesn’t sell fruit, it offers the pieces he slowly creates in his studio in Taipei. The works are no longer limited to the theme of fruits and vegetables, but the name remains to remember the starting point of his creative journey over a decade ago. Most pieces are one-off, waiting to find their destined owner. For any questions about the works, please feel free to reach out.  

Works can be shipped domestically within Taiwan and internationally. For buyers in Taiwan, purchases can be made directly via ECShop.  For international buyers, please send a message for inquiries. The Rolling Days is a furniture piece that evolved from my Tile Project. The rectangular wooden structure is made of European birch plywood, with a top wooden frame designed to hold two pieces from the Tile Project series. The tiles can be freely selected and combined, with each piece being one of a kind. A circular cutout in the top left corner allows for easy tile replacement. The internal space provides storage, while four caster wheels at the base enable smooth movement, making it a versatile and flexible addition to any space.


滾動的日子 是從磁磚計畫中延伸出來的傢具作品。長方體木結構使用歐洲樺木夾板，上層木框可剛好置入兩片「磁磚計畫」系列作品 (磁磚可隨意挑選搭配，每件磁磚僅有一件)，左上角的圓孔設計方便換取磁磚。內部空間可做儲物收納用途，底層加了四個角輪，讓它可在空間裡自由滑行，靈活運用。

Market Decal Tableware Series began with Beitou Local Flavors Collecting Project, a collaboration with Hong-gah Museum in 2019. The decal patterns on the tableware were collected from traditional markets in the Beitou area. Over time, I have continued to add newly collected patterns to my decal folder, producing small batches of new works. This is the tableware I frequently use at home, embodying the flavors of Taiwan even without food on it.

The tableware is made by Tatung, a renowned Taiwanese brand known for its durable chinaware. It is safe for use in dishwashers and microwaves. Each piece is hand-decaled and fired at 800°C. Minor imperfections may occur, but they do not affect regular use. The decal patterns and arrangements on each plate are unique, and they are shipped randomly. 市場貼花系列餐具 始於2019年與鳳甲美術館合作的 「北投在地風味採集」 計畫。餐具上的貼花圖樣為走訪北投地區傳統市場所採集而來，而後，每隔一段時間，我就會將新蒐集到的圖樣加入我的貼花圖庫，並且少量再製新的一批作品。這是我在家經常使用的碗盤，不用盛裝食物就充滿台灣味道的碗盤。

餐具採用台灣老品牌——大同強化瓷餐具，堅強耐用，可用於洗碗機、微波爐。手工貼花，經800度燒成。貼花圖樣難免有小瑕疵，不影響一般正常使用。每件盤子上的貼花圖樣與配置皆不盡相同，隨機出貨。
